Yeong Ro Lee

Mr. Lee, Yeong Ro received MBA from Korea University and Ph.D Degree of Information System Management from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

 

He joined the LG Group in 1986.  Over the years, he had experiences in telecommunication products and system integration business.  Since he moved to NIA(National Information society Agency) in 1996, he have been actively involved in National Broadband Infra and ICT related Initiatives over 20 years as a division leader of NIA.  As a vice president of NIA, he is leading KOREN(Korea Advanced Research Network), 5G testbed and a number of national initiatives mainly related to 5G, SDN/NFV, PS-LTE. Currently he is a member of TEIN Advisory Board.

Eric Yen

Eric Yen is a research scientist at Academia Sinica Grid Computing Centre (ASGC) in Taiwan. Eric Yen has been actively involved in APAN activities for more than 15 years ranging from Application area, Technology area and APAN meeting organization in addition to regional network collaborations. He initiated the Disaster Mitigation Working Group together with Dr. Denis F. Villorente of ASTI Philippines from the BOF stage at APAN41 in 2016. Mr. Yen is also the co-chairman of APAN Cloud Working Group aiming to promote regional collaborations through Cloud Working Group Meetings at every APAN meeting since APAN38. Eric Yen has been acting as the chairperson of APGridPMA (Policy Management Authority) from 2008 which is building interoperable global trust federation (IGTF) supporting distributed research infrastructure together with PMAs in Europe (EUGridPMA) and America (TAGPMA).

Dr. Shigeki Goto is a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Waseda University, Japan. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Tokyo. He also earned a Ph.D in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo. Prior to becoming a professor at Waseda University, he has worked for NTT for many years.

He is a member of ACM and IEEE, and a trustee of Internet Society from 1994 to 1997. He is a fellow of IPSJ (Information Processing Society Japan) and a trustee of Japan Society for Software Science and Technology from 1993 to 1994.

Dr. Chalermpol Charnsripinyo is currently a senior research specialist and the Head of Internet Innovation Laboratory at National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) under National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Thailand. Beside his main job at NECTEC, he has been invited as an adjunct lecturer in universities. He has also served on various committees and working groups related to network infrastructure in Thailand.

Jianping Wu has been Professor of Computer Science, Tsinghua University from 1993. He is also a director of Network Research Center of Tsinghua University. George McLaughlin, FRSC, AM is a Graduate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and has been inducted as a Member of the Order of Australia (2009). Mr. Ranjan Kumar received his BSc (Hons) Physics and M.Sc.(Physics) degree from University of Delhi. He holds M.Tech (Computer Science) degree from Institution of Electronics & Telecommunications Engineers (IETE), New Delhi. He has been working for ERNET India (Education & Research Network of India) since the year 2000. At present, he is holding the position of Joint Director in ERNET India. He is also the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of ERNET India.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Napis received his BSc (Biology) and MSc (Veterinary Immunobiology) from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA. He holds a Doctorate degree from the University of Durham, UK in the field of Plant Molecular Biology. He relies heavily on many bioinformatics tools to facilitate his research and managed to bring the first ever bioinformatics computing facility of Australian National Genomic Information Services (ANGIS) to Malaysia and was instrumental in the initiation of the formation of Malaysian Bioinformatics Network and also Asia Pacific Bioinformatic Network (APBioNet).

Prof. Motonori Nakamura graduated from Kyoto University, Japan, where he received B.E.,  M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering in 1989, 1991 and 1996,  respectively. From 1994, he was an assistant professor at Ritsumeikan  University. From 1995, he was an associate professor at Kyoto  University. Currently he is a professor at National Institute of  Informatics, Japan (NII) and working on SINET, GakuNin Access Federation, eduroam JP, UPKI Certificate Service, etc.  His research interests are message transport network systems, network  communications, next generation internet and Identity & Access  Management. He is a member of IEEE, ISOC, IEICE, IPSJ and JSSST.  He is also a member of WIDE Project, and contributed for sendmail R8 improvement, sendmail.cf configuration tools, etc.

John Kan

Dr John Kan is A*STAR’s Chief Information Officer, and is also concurrently the Chief Data Analytics Officer and Deputy Chairman of A*STAR’s Computational Resource Centre. He is also the President of Singapore’s SingAREN Network.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the InfoComms and Telecomms Industry in Singapore and the region, working with various “C” Level and equivalent level contacts in MNCs, Governments, Regulatory Agencies and Local Companies. Prior to joining A*STAR, he held Senior Management appointments in Teletech Asia, OpentextVignette, Siemens, Silicon Graphics, Datacraft Asia, Singapore Technologies, AT&T and MINDEF. He is also a Member of the ITMA, Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore IT Federation, and serves in NGO and VWO organisations in Singapore.

Dr. Jilong Wang is a full time professor at the Institute of Network Science and Cyberspace at Tsinghua University. He is also the head of Internet Architecture Lab at Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology.

He served as NOC director of several large scale Internet infrastructures, including CERNET2 (the 2nd generation of China Education and Research Network) and TEIN (Trans-Eurasia Information Network) between 2004 and 2016. He is now the APAN-CN chair and an [email protected] Governor. He is also the director of CITIC networks which is a major telecom enterprise in China.

Gerrit Bahlman has just retired from the position of Director of Information Technology at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in Hong Kong. He took up his position in August 2009 after serving as the Chief Information Officer at Massey University in New Zealand. He has been involved in the strategic planning, development, management and design of teaching and learning, research, communications and administrative support systems and structures in universities since 1986.
